The Millennium Stadium, known since 2016 as the Principality Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is located in the heart of Cardiff, the capital city of Wales. Here’s how you can reach the stadium:
Cardiff Central Railway Station is the closest major station to the Millennium Stadium and is approximately a 5-minute walk away. Cardiff Central is well connected to other major cities in the UK, including London, Manchester, Birmingham, and other regional lines.
Cardiff bus station is located just a short walk from the stadium, with many local and national bus services stopping here. Providers include National Express and Megabus, as well as local services.
If you're driving, Cardiff is connected by the M4 motorway, which runs east-west across the UK, and the A470 which runs South-North through Wales. The stadium itself doesn't have a car park for match days, and road closures are common on busy event days, so it's recommended to park in one of the city centre car parks and walk.
The nearest airport is Cardiff Airport (CWL), which is around 12 miles west of the city. You can catch a shuttle bus or taxi from the airport to the city centre. Another nearby major airport is Bristol Airport (BRS), which is approximately 45 miles away, offering more international flight options.
Being in the city centre, the Millennium Stadium is also easily accessible on foot and by bicycle. There are bike racks available around the city centre for cyclists.
Please note that on event days, there may be road closures and additional public transport services to accommodate large crowds, so always check the latest travel advice from the event organizers and local transport authorities.
