Monkey Point is one of the highest peaks in the charming town of Kasauli, located in Himachal Pradesh, India. This scenic vista is situated within the Air Force Station near the Lower Mall region and is about 4 kilometers from Kasauli bus stand. The point is named after Rishi Man-Ki who used to worship an idol on the top and is characterized by a small temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. It is believed that while returning from the Himalayas after acquiring the Sanjeevani herb, Lord Hanuman's foot touched the hill, thus granting it its name and religious significance. The spot provides panoramic views of the Sutlej River, Shimla, and the nearby cities of Kalka and Chandigarh, especially on clear days. Visitors need to pass a security check due to the point being in a restricted area under the Indian Air Force, and photography is strictly prohibited. The place offers a serene atmosphere amidst lush greenery and cool mountain breeze, suitable for both leisure and spiritual pursuits.
