The Museum of Folk and Tribal Art is an exceptional establishment located in the burgeoning city of Gurugram in Haryana, India. Founded by Mr. K.C. Aryan, a well-known art historian, in 1984, this museum is dedicated to preserving the vibrant folk and tribal art of India. Nestled in the urban landscape, it provides a stark contrast with its collection that includes paintings, metal crafts, wood carvings, and terracotta from various tribal regions of the country. The museum houses over 20,000 items, offering a panoramic view of India's rich cultural heritage. It serves not only as a repository of art but also as an educational institution providing insights into the varied art forms that are still practiced in rural India. The museum’s rustic charm and the aesthetic display of artifacts create an immersive experience for visitors who are eager to learn about the country's indigenous cultures. The collection shines a spotlight on the simplicity and beauty of rural life through items that are often used in daily life, rituals, and festivities by the tribal populations.
