By Air

Kualanamu International Airport (KNO) is the gateway for international and domestic flights into Medan. Upon landing, you can opt for a taxi, an airport rail link service called 'Railink,' or a bus to reach the city center. The journey by taxi or rail link takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic.

By Road

Medan is well-connected by road. If you are traveling from other parts of Sumatra, you can use intercity buses that arrive at Amplas Bus Terminal, which is the main bus station serving Medan. From Amplas, take a local taxi or a ride-hailing service to the museum.

Within the City

The Museum of North Sumatra is located in the city center, making it easily accessible by local transportation. You have the following options:

• Public Bus: Public buses are available, but ensure to check the latest routes and numbers as they may change.
• Taxi: Metered taxis are widely available throughout the city and can be hailed from the street or booked through your hotel.
• Online Ride-Hailing Services: Apps like Gojek and Grab operate in Medan and offer convenient options to hire a car or motorcycle taxi.
• Becak Motor (Motorized Rickshaw): For short distances, these are a popular and fun way to travel, but agree on the price before starting your trip.

Additional Tips

The address of the Museum of North Sumatra is Jalan H.M. Joni No.51, Medan. Before you depart for the museum, check the opening hours to plan your visit accordingly. Also, be mindful of the traffic, as Medan can experience congestion, which may affect travel times.
