The Museum of Trade Ceramics is an enchanting cultural institution located in the heart of the ancient town of Hoi An, Vietnam. It is a testament to Hoi An's illustrious past when it was a bustling trading port from the 15th to the 19th century, frequented by merchants from across Asia and Europe. The museum, set in a restored traditional Vietnamese 'shop house', showcases a vast collection of ceramic artifacts that reflect the diversity of the goods traded in Hoi An and the different cultures that passed through this merchant town. The artifacts include pottery and porcelain pieces from various parts of Asia such as China, Japan, India, and Thailand, displaying intricate designs and craftsmanship. These pieces not only represent the thriving commercial exchange but also the cultural and aesthetic influences that shaped the region's history. Visitors to the museum can appreciate the skillful displays that are well-curated to provide educational insights into the trade relationships that were established hundreds of years ago. The museum also offers an in-depth look at the history of Hoi An and the ancient ceramics trade that contributed significantly to the town’s prosperity.
The Happy Smile Quilling shop has beautiful items at reasonable prices. The staff are warm and welcoming. We bought several greeting cards, hand done and lovely.
