Best Time To Visit New Palace (Neues Schloss) (Stuttgart) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Neues Schloss Stuttgart, Germany

The Neues Schloss Stuttgart, located in the heart of Stuttgart, Germany, is a grand baroque palace that once served as the residence of the Kings of Württemberg. The best time to visit this historic landmark is during the spring (April to June) or early autumn (September to early October). During these periods, the weather is generally mild, making your tour through the palace and its surroundings a pleasant experience. Spring brings the added bonus of blooming flowers in the castle gardens, adding to the aesthetic charm. Furthermore, the region's wine festivals begin in autumn, offering a delightful cultural experience in conjunction with your historical exploration.

Summer months (late June to August) can also be an attractive time to visit, as Stuttgart has many open-air events and festivals. However, this is peak tourist season, meaning that the Neues Schloss might be more crowded, and the temperatures can get quite high, sometimes climbing over 30°C (86°F). If you prefer to avoid large crowds and enjoy a more tranquil visit with better opportunities to appreciate the palace's architecture and art without rush, it is advisable to aim for weekdays and shoulder season periods in spring and early autumn. Keep in mind that winter visits might be hindered by colder weather, and access to some of the gardens and outdoor areas might be limited or less enjoyable.
