The nearest airport to Kanazawa is Komatsu Airport. From there, you can take a bus to Kanazawa Station. The bus ride takes approximately 40 minutes. Buses operate roughly every 30 minutes.
Kanazawa is well-connected by rail. If you are coming from Tokyo, you can take the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Kanazaya Station, a journey which takes about 2.5 hours. From Osaka or Kyoto, direct JR limited express trains are available, taking approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.
You can also reach Kanazawa by highway bus from various cities, including Tokyo and Nagoya, although it is a longer trip compared to trains.
Once in Kanazawa, the Nishi Chaya District is accessible by local bus or rental bicycle. The Kanazawa Loop Bus stops at the Nishi Chaya Shiryokan Mae, which is a short walk to the Nishi Chaya District. The loop bus operates every 15 minutes.
Alternatively, you can take a pleasant walk from Kanazawa Station to Nishi Chaya District; it takes about 20 minutes. A taxi from Kanazawa Station will get you there in about 10 minutes, depending on traffic.
