Best Time To Visit Novodevichy Convent (Moscow) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Novodevichy Convent in Moscow, Russia

When planning a trip to see the historic Novodevichy Convent in Moscow, the best time to visit is during the late spring and early summer months—May through June. During this period, the weather is pleasantly warm but not excessively hot, allowing for comfortable exploration of the convent's grounds and the adjacent Novodevichy Cemetery. Spring in Moscow sees the city come alive with blooming flowers and greenery, making the gardens of the convent especially beautiful. Moreover, the days are long, providing ample daylight for visitors to enjoy the convent's stunning architecture and serene atmosphere.

Another advantageous time for a visit can be during the early fall, particularly in September. During this month, the weather is still mild, and the tourist crowds of the summer begin to dissipate, offering a more peaceful experience. It is also worth noting that the convent's striking appearance changes with the seasons; therefore, witnessing the golden leaves of autumn surrounding the convent's white walls and shining domes can be particularly breathtaking. Despite Moscow's charm in winter when the convent is dusted in snow, the cold temperatures can be quite harsh, thus making the warmer months a more favorable choice for your visit.
