Ohori Park is a picturesque urban oasis situated in the middle of Fukuoka, Japan, offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The park's name, 'Ohori', translates to 'moat' and refers to the park's large pond, which was historically part of Fukuoka Castle's moat system. Spanning approximately 40 hectares, this scenic park features a 2-kilometer circular moat that is popular for jogging, walking, and leisurely strolls. Within the park, visitors can enjoy the beautiful Japanese garden, complete with traditional teahouses and meticulously landscured plants that provide a tranquil setting for relaxation and reflection. The park also hosts a variety of events, including fireworks during summer festivals. Additionally, the Ohori Park Japanese Garden, Fukuoka Art Museum, and the Fukuoka Castle ruins within the park are attractions that contribute to the park's cultural significance. Ohori Park’s design was influenced by the West Lake of Hangzhou in China, and today, it’s recognized for its blend of natural beauty and cultural importance, making it a favorite spot for both tourists and locals.
