Best Time to Visit Old City of Sana'a

The Old City of Sana'a, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an ancient wonder that is best visited during the months of March to May and September to November. These periods mark the transitional phases between the extremes of summer and winter, providing a more temperate climate for exploration. The spring months, particularly April, often see the landscape at its most vibrant with mild weather that is ideal for sightseeing. This is optimal for visitors who intend to spend extended periods of time outdoors, wandering through the city's ancient lanes and marveling at its iconic multi-story buildings decorated with geometric patterns.

Alternatively, the autumn window offers similarly pleasant conditions, post the hot summer, ensuring the weather is not too warm for the travellers. During these months, the heat of the summer has subsided and the chilly winds of winter are yet to arrive, giving tourists the chance to enjoy the site in comfort. It's important to note the geopolitical situation in Yemen, as it can be unstable and may impact travel plans. Therefore, it's crucial to check the current travel advisories and ensure your safety before planning your trip to Sana'a.
