Oxygen Park, a unique public space in Education City, Al Rayyan, Qatar, offers a blend of contemporary design and natural landscapes. Spanning over 130,000 square meters, this park was conceptualized with the idea of providing a green lung for the city and a place for community gatherings, exercise, and recreation. Designed by the New York-based landscape architecture firm, Field Operations, the park features rolling hills, playgrounds, and sports pitches. The highlight of the park is its signature feature known as the 'e-cavern,' which consists of walkways and canopies resembling the topography of arid landscapes, simulating the experience of walking through a canyon. At night, the park is illuminated with ambient lighting, making it a pleasant space for evening visits. Oxygen Park incorporates environmentally sustainable features like water efficiency and locally sourced materials. The park is part of Qatar Foundation's vision of promoting human development through a connection with the environment, thus enhancing the quality of life for students, faculty, and residents of Doha.
