Panipat Battlefield, located in the historic city of Panipat, Haryana, India, is steeped in history as the site of three significant battles that shaped Indian history. The first battle took place in 1526, marking the beginning of Mughal rule in India with Babur defeating Ibrahim Lodi. This was followed by the second battle in 1556 between Akbar and Hemu, establishing the Mughal empire's rule. Lastly, the third battle in 1761 between the Maratha Empire and the Afghan invader Ahmad Shah Abdali had far-reaching consequences for Indian power dynamics.
