Patenga Beach is a popular tourist spot located at the confluence of the Karnaphuli River and the Bay of Bengal, near Chittagong city in Bangladesh. The beach is renowned for its stunning views, particularly during sunrise and sunset. Spanning approximately 120 kilometers, this tranquil destination offers a refreshing atmosphere amidst the bustling life of Chittagong, the second-largest city of the country. Visitors at Patenga enjoy the gentle breeze, the soothing sound of waves, and the unique combination of river and sea. Alongside natural beauty, the beach is lined with shops selling souvenirs, local snacks, and fast food. The beach area has been improved with the installation of paved walkways and sitting areas for tourists to relax. It is also a fantastic spot for bird watching and photographing the daily activities of fishermen. However, swimming is not recommended due to strong currents and tides. In recent years, efforts have been made to preserve the natural habitat while accommodating visitors. With its close proximity to Bangladesh Naval Academy and Shah Amanat International Airport, Patenga Beach is easily accessible and forms an integral part of Chittagong’s tourist attractions.
