Piazza della Signoria is an L-shaped square located in the heart of Florence, Italy, and is the focal point of the city's political history as well as the social life of its citizens. This iconic square is surrounded by stunning examples of Florentine architecture and open-air sculptures, making it an open-air sculpture gallery. The square is dominated by the imposing Palazzo Vecchio, Florence's town hall, with its crenellated tower offering a commanding view. Adjacent to the Palazzo Vecchio is the Loggia dei Lanzi, which houses a collection of Renaissance statues, including Cellini's Perseus with the head of Medusa. Another significant feature is the Fountain of Neptune, which symbolizes Florentine naval ambitions. The square is also home to a replica of Michelangelo's David, with the original housed in the nearby Accademia Gallery.
