Ideal visit duration: 1-2 hours
Quba Mosque, located in the outskirts of Madinah in Saudi Arabia, stands as the first mosque ever built in the Islamic history. Founded by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in 622 CE upon his migration from Mecca to Medina, it holds immense significance for Muslims. It was initially a simple structure with walls made of mud bricks and palm trunks serving as support columns. Today, Quba Mosque is a grand and modern structure adorned with white marble, green domes, and four minarets pointing gracefully towards the sky. The interior is beautifully designed with intricate Islamic patterns, lush carpets, and chandeliers that amplify the spiritual ambiance. Devotees and visitors arrive here to offer Salaat, especially the Quba Mosque-specific two Rakat prayer, which is believed to bestow blessings equivalent to performing an Umrah. The mosque has been expanded and renovated multiple times. It is surrounded by palm trees and has a tranquil environment, offering a space for peaceful contemplation. The mosque’s grounds also include a library and a shopping area for visitors.
