Al Masjid an Nabawi, also known as the Prophet's Mosque, is a monumental and deeply significant Islamic worship site located in the heart of Medina, Saudi Arabia. It was built by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) next to his house and contains his tomb. Expanded multiple times throughout history, it stands today as one of the largest mosques in the world and is visited by millions of pilgrims and worshipers each year, particularly during the Hajj and Umrah seasons. The mosque's architecture is a stunning display of Islamic art and design, featuring a flat paved roof topped with 27 sliding domes on square bases. Halls are adorned with columns, arches, and intricate Islamic motifs. The Green Dome above the Prophet's tomb is an iconic symbol of the mosque. With the capacity to accommodate over a million worshipers, the mosque is surrounded by the Al Baqi Cemetery, where many relatives and companions of the Prophet are buried. Al Masjid an Nabawi serves not only as a place of prayer but also as a community gathering place, symbolizing peace, piety, and the rich history of Islam.
