Sethi House Museum, located in the heart of Peshawar's old city in Pakistan, is a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the Sethi family merchants in the 19th century. This architectural masterpiece reflects the convergence of Central Asian and Gandharan designs, showcasing intricate wood carvings, beautifully detailed frescoes, and ornate balconies. The Haveli is organized around a central courtyard, characteristic of traditional Peshawari homes, and elaborately adorned with floral and geometric motifs. Entrusted to the KP Directorate of Archaeology and Museums, the Sethi House has been preserved as a museum, giving visitors an immersive experience of the city's cultural heritage. With rooms arranged to exhibit period furniture, garments, and photos, the museum provides a wonderfully detailed picture of the affluent lives led by the mercantile families of the region as well as the craftsmanship of the era. The stunning jharokhas (overhanging balconies) and the tall, intricately designed wooden doorways are of particular historical and artistic significance within the museum.
