Best Time To Visit Settsu Picnic Spot (Mokokchung) In 2026 - 2027

Visiting Settsu Picnic Spot in Mokokchung, Nagaland, India, is an enchanting experience that depends on personal preferences and the local seasonal changes. The best time to visit Settsu is generally from October to May, when the weather is most hospitable for outdoor activities. During these months, the climate remains moderate with minimal rainfall, ensuring that picnic-goers can enjoy the lush landscapes and outdoor facilities comfortably. October marks the end of the monsoon and the beginning of a freshly rejuvenated flora, making the scenery particularly vibrant, while the cooler months that follow, especially November to February, present the most temperate climate ideal for outdoor dining and exploration.

For those interested in local culture and festivals, visiting around the last week of April can be particularly rewarding. This is when the Aos, the predominant tribe of Mokokchung, celebrate their Moatsu Festival. Although Settsu is primarily a picnic spot, the region's festive mood can provide a unique cultural experience to visitors. It’s advisable to carry light woolens during the early parts of the year as evenings can get cool. However, tourists should avoid the monsoon season from late May to September due to heavy rains which can cause disruptions in travel and outdoor activities. Whenever you choose to visit Settsu, ensure that you respect local customs and the natural surroundings of this picturesque location.
