Best Time To Visit Sugbo Mercado (Cebu City) In 2026 - 2027

Visit Sugbo Mercado: Best Time to Experience Cebu's Premier Food Market

Sugbo Mercado operates year-round, making it a staple destination for both locals and tourists who wish to indulge in a variety of culinary experiences. However, the best time to visit is during the dry season, which spans from December to May. During these months, you can enjoy the outdoor food market without the inconvenience of rain. The pleasant weather is perfect for a night of food tripping while basking in the vibrant atmosphere. Evenings are particularly ideal as the temperature cools down, allowing for a comfortable stroll through the array of food stalls.

If you're interested in attending Sugbo Mercado when it's at its liveliest, plan your visit around local holidays and festivals. Sinulog Festival, usually celebrated in the third week of January, is one of the most festive times to be in Cebu City. While the market is busier during these occasions, it's an excellent opportunity to experience the local culture and festivities. The market is open from Thursday to Sunday every week, starting in the late afternoon until midnight. Weekends attract the biggest crowds, offering the full experience with the widest selection of food and the buzz of excited diners sampling Cebu's culinary delights.
