Best Time to Visit Sunabeda Wildlife Sanctuary, Jeypore, Odisha, India

Sunabeda Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the beautiful and culturally rich state of Odisha, is a prime destination for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers. The best time to visit this sanctuary is during the cooler months of October to March. During this period, the weather is pleasant, with temperatures ranging between 15°C and 30°C, making wildlife spotting and outdoor activities such as trekking and bird watching more enjoyable. The monsoon season, which typically ends in September, rejuvenates the flora and fauna, so visitors in October will witness the lush landscapes and water bodies brimming with life.

It is important to note that from April to June, the temperatures can soar up to 40°C, making excursions in the sanctuary less comfortable. While the sanctuary remains open year-round, tours and jungle safaris are best avoided in the peak summer months due to the intense heat. Furthermore, the months of July to September witness heavy rainfall due to the monsoon, which can lead to restrictions in movement within the sanctuary due to water-logged areas and potential risks. Therefore, to ensure an optimal experience, plan your visit in the cooler, drier months when the sanctuary is teeming with activity and offers the best conditions for exploring its natural beauty.
