Best Time To Visit Suramadu Bridge (Surabaya) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Suramadu Bridge, Surabaya, Indonesia

Visiting the Suramadu Bridge, which connects Surabaya on the island of Java to Madura Island in Indonesia, is an experience best enjoyed during the dry season. The dry months in Surabaya typically span from May to September. This period is characterized by lower chances of rain and a generally sunny climate, ensuring that visitors can enjoy clear views of the bridge and its surroundings. Early morning or late afternoon is highly recommended to avoid the scorching midday heat. Moreover, the bridge is beautifully illuminated at night, offering a captivating sight, hence heading there after sunset can be quite rewarding for both sightseers and photographers.

The months of July and August see a surge in domestic tourism due to school holidays, so these might be less ideal if you're aiming to avoid crowds. Conversely, opting for the shoulder months like May or September can provide a balance between pleasant weather and thinner crowds. Additionally, significant dates such as the anniversary of the bridge's opening in June could feature special events, adding to the attraction's experience. Regardless of when you decide to visit, ensure you make the most of your trip by checking the local weather forecast and any scheduled festivities that can enhance the visit to Indonesia's longest bridge.
