Tarout Castle is a historical fortress located on Tarout Island in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. While the fortress itself, with roots tracing back to ancient civilizations including the Dilmun, the Phoenicians, and later Islamic eras, doesn't have a distinct cuisine, the surrounding Qatif region, and more broadly, the Eastern Province, has a rich culinary heritage. The area has long been a crossroad for various cultures, contributing to its broad palate of flavors and spices. Traditional foods here are influenced by the rich diversity of the Arabian Peninsula, as well as South Asian and Persian cuisines, due to the historical spice trade and proximity to these cultures.
