Best Time To Visit The Star Ferry (Hong Kong) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit The Star Ferry, Hong  Kong

The iconic Star Ferry has been a staple of Hong Kong's history and culture since the late 19th century, offering majestic views of the skyline from Victoria Harbour. The best time to experience the Star Ferry is arguably from October to December when Hong Kong witnesses clear, sunny days with cooler temperatures and low humidity. This period falls under the autumn season, which is considered the most comfortable climate-wise, and offers the backdrop of clear blue skies for your photos. Additionally, the weather is conducive to longer walks along the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade before or after your ferry ride, enhancing your experience of the city's waterfront.

Moreover, sightseeing from the Star Ferry during the evenings throughout the year can also be remarkably stunning, as the city lights begin to twinkle across the skyline—a view not to be missed. Taking a ride after sunset allows travelers to witness the legendary "A Symphony of Lights", a spectacular multimedia light show that begins at 8:00 PM nightly. However, to avoid the crowds and enjoy a more tranquil sail, consider setting sail during weekdays or non-peak hours. Note that the Star Ferry's operating hours are generally from early morning until 11:00 PM, providing ample opportunity to find the perfect time to cruise.
