The Thean Hou Temple in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is a renowned six-tiered Chinese temple dedicated to the sea goddess Mazu. It is one of the largest temples in Southeast Asia and an exemplary structure reflecting the synergy of contemporary architectural style and traditional designs with elements like the ornate dragons and pagoda rooftops. The temple, built by the local Chinese community, was completed in 1989 and officially opened in 1987. It is situated atop Robson Heights along Lorong Bellamy, offering breathtaking views of Kuala Lumpur. The temple embodies a blend of Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism, and it features impressive columns, beautiful lanterns, and intricate carvings. Visitors can explore the prayer hall adorned with three altars, each with a sculpture of one deity or goddess. It is also a cultural centre for the community's activities, with marriage registration services popular among couples. Thean Hou Temple hosts grand celebrations during festivals such as Chinese New Year, the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the birthdays of deities such as Mazu and Guan Yin, attracting locals and tourists alike.
Nice interesting stop on day out. Found the people here were friendly and happy to chat about what we were seeing here. Was nice to see quite a few Bride & Grooms coming to register for their weddings..
Definitely go after sunset of the lantern lighting
Absolute must do in KL, this temple makes for some spectacular photos at night (after 7pm) when the sun sets and the lanterns come on. Very beautiful temple with a few different spaces to explore.

Nice Chinese Temple
The place is not super great to be honest, but just good enough to visit and have a glimpse of a Chinese temple and its architecture. Great for casual visit for around hr.
