The Tomb of Hafez, known as Hafezieh, is located in the city of Shiraz, Iran, and it is among the country's most cherished cultural landmarks. Hafez was a 14th-century Persian poet, whose works are pivotal in the Persian literature canon. His poetry largely deals with themes of love, spirituality, and protest. The tomb complex is set within the Musalla Gardens, contributing to a serene atmosphere that invites countless visitors to ponder the mystical and philosophical verses of Hafez. The current mausoleum was designed by the French architect and archaeologist André Godard in the late 1930s. The structure is open, with its roof held aloft by intricately decorated columns, allowing visitors an unobstructed view of the tombstone. The tombstone itself is ensconced in an enclosure and engraved with Hafez's poetry. Gardens and reflecting pools surround the pavilion, providing a tranquil setting. Nighttime brings special charm when the site is atmospherically lit, offering a mesmerizing ambience.
