How to Reach Tops Lookout, Cebu City, Philippines

Tops Lookout offers breathtaking panoramic views of Cebu City and is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. It is situated on Mt. Busay and is approximately 600 meters above sea level. Here's how you can reach this scenic viewpoint:

By Private Car

Driving to Tops Lookout is the most convenient option. From Cebu City, head towards JY Square Mall located in Lahug. From there, follow the uphill road leading to the Transcentral Highway. Tops Lookout is well-signposted and the ride takes about 30 minutes to an hour depending on the traffic.

By Motorcycle or "Habal-Habal"

"Habal-Habal" is a local term for motorcycles-for-huff that typically can seat more than two people. You can find these motorcycles for hire at JY Square Mall. Be sure to negotiate the fare in advance. A roundtrip fare will include waiting time while you enjoy the view at Tops Lookout. Always wear a helmet for safety.

By Taxi

Catching a taxi is another option, but make sure to hire one that agrees on taking you there and waiting to bring you back to the city as it might be difficult to find a ride back from the top. Agree on the fare beforehand to avoid any misunderstanding.

By Public Transport and Hiking

For the more adventurous visitors, you can take a public jeepney from Lahug going towards Busay and ask to be dropped off near the entrance to Tops Lookout. Be prepared for a hike, as you'll need to travel the remaining distance on foot.

By Guided Tours

Several travel agencies in Cebu City offer guided tours to Tops Lookout. This usually comes with a transportation service that will pick you up from your hotel, a guide to accompany you, and sometimes extras like meals or additional stopovers at other tourist spots.

Note: Consider visiting during the late afternoon to catch the spectacular sunset or at night when the city lights sparkle below. Remember to bring a jacket as it can get quite chilly at this altitude, especially at night.
