Traveling to the University of Cambridge

By Air:

The nearest international airport is London Stansted, approximately 30 miles south-east of Cambridge. Other nearby airports include London Heathrow and London Gatwick. Upon arrival at any of these airports, you can take various modes of transport to Cambridge:

  • Stansted Airport: Direct trains run from Stansted to Cambridge. The journey takes about 35 minutes.
  • Heathrow Airport: Use the National Express coach service or take the Heathrow Express to London Paddington, then a tube to King’s Cross Station, followed by a train to Cambridge.
  • Gatwick Airport: Take a train to London St Pancras and change for a direct train to Cambridge.

By Train:

Cambridge Railway Station is well connected to many cities across the UK. Direct trains from London King's Cross or London St Pancras can take as little as 45 minutes. Other direct train services from cities like Birmingham, Manchester and Norwich are available too.

By Coach:

National Express operates coach services to Cambridge from major cities and airports. Coaches terminate at Parkside, next to Parker’s Piece in the city centre.

By Car:

Cambridge is accessible via the M11 motorway from London, the south-east, and via the A14 from the Midlands and the North. Parking in the city can be challenging; using the Park and Ride service is often a convenient option.
