Zvartnots Cathedral Tourism

Zvartnots Cathedral, located near the town of Echmiadzin in Armenia, is a magnificent example of medieval Armenian architecture. It was built in the 7th century by the order of Catholicos Nerses III. Known for its unique circular design and innovative structural techniques, Zvartnots was unfortunately destroyed by an earthquake in the 10th century, leaving behind only ruins. These ruins, however, offer a glimpse into the grandeur of the original structure. The site includes the remains of the cathedral with its central dome and columns, as well as other religious and cultural buildings.
