14 Nights 15 Days Gangtok Tour Package Itinerary

Day 1: Airport/New Jalpiguri – Gangtok

Reach at Bagdogra / NJP & transfer to Gangtok. Check-in at Hotel/ Resort and overnight stay. Evening free to go around the famous M.G. Marg. Enjoy the local beauty of Gangtok.

Day 2: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir (Nathula Pass Extra)

After breakfast day excursion to the oval shaped Tsomgo Lake (40 kms from Gangtok departure in the morning) - situated at a height of 3,780 mts. with an average depth of 50 ft and home to the Brahminy duck and several migratory birds. On the way stop at Kyongnosla The cool water of the Lake is perfectly attuned with the scenic beauty around. Travel to Baba Mandir another 17 kms beyond Tsongo lake.Return to Gangtok. Overnight halt at Gangtok Hotel. Optional Nathula (Additional Cost of 6000 per vehicle) (14140 Ft / 4310 Mts / 20 Kms in 1Hrs one way from Tshangu Lake) Baba Mandir (13100Ft / 3994 Mts / 16Kms in 1Hrs one way from Tshangu Lake) is an Indo China border, controlled by the Indian Army & is situated approx 20 Kms ahead of Tshangu Lake at an height of 14140 Ft / 4310. The journey to Nathula & Baba Mandir is same up to 16 Kms. At this point the right arm of the “V” which is 4 Kms takes one to Baba Mandir & left arm of the “V” which is 4 Kms takes one to Nathula. One can opt for Nathula Excursion by paying a supplement cost which varies from month to month. Nathula permit gets confirmed 24 hrs prior to the journey date & it is subjected to permit availability as it is allotted as per lottery. Nathula is closed on Monday & Tuesday for tourist. Organizing the permit at the last moment is not possible & a clear window of 72 Hrs with proper documents is required to process the permit. There is no refund, in case the permit is confirmed by Sikkim tourism & due to whatsoever reason (Land slide, Heavy rain fall, VIP Movement, Health issue etc) one is not able to visit.

Day 3: Gangtok to Lachen (about 125km/6hrs)

Drive to Lachen (9500ft), a village surrounded by snowcapped peaks and beautiful alpine meadows via Chungthang (is on the confluence of Lachen & lachung rivers) another quiet and picturesque hamlet on the higher Himalayas famous for its proximity to the Kanchenjunga National park, Chungthang is a sub-divisional town and the first entry point into alpine north; visit Tashi view point, seven sister falls, Naga falls, lunch on the way, transfer to hotel at Lachen. Overnight halt and dinner at Lachen hotel.

Day 4: Lachen - Gurudongma lake - Lachung

Start early at 4 am, morning breakfast at Thangu then proceed for excursion trip through the Kanchenjunga National park, to Gurudongmar Lake. After visiting return to Lachen post lunch transfer to Lachung. En-route visit at, Confluence of Lachen Chu and Lachung Chu at Chungthang, Bhim Nala Waterfall and Holy Rock at Chungthang. Overnight dinner and stay at Lachung hotel.

Day 5: Lachung-Yumthang excursion – Gangtok( Zero point extra)

Early Morning after breakfast visit Yumthang-valley (known as Valley of Flowers), Yumthang is the summer grazing ground of the yaks & winter playgrounds of yetis. Overnight stay at Gangtok hotel. * Zero point and Katao if open can be visited with extra payment, payable to the driver directly.

Day 6: Gangtok to Darjeeling Transfer and Toy Train Ride (Optional, At Own Cost)

Day 10: Thimphu Sightseeing

Some of the sites of religious nature are National Memorial Chorten; built in 1974 it was raised in the memory of third King. Next visit one of the oldest monasteries in the valley- Chang Gangkha Monastery. The nature and wildlife lovers should not miss a visit to National Zoo which also houses national animal takin. National Library (collections of holy scripts) & ,in the evening visit Buddha point.Overnight at Thimphu.

Day 11: Thimphu – Punakha / Wangdue Sightseeing (77 kms / 3 hrs)

After breakfast drive to Punakha / Wangdue Phodrang (4,300 ft.), via Dochu-La-Pass (10,170 ft.). Continue towards Punakha visit Chimi Lhakhang - The Temple of Fertility built in 15th century. Also visit Punakha Dzong. On arrival check in at the hotel. Evening free for leisure. Overnight at Punakha.

Day 12: Punakha – Paro (140 kms / 5 hrs)

Visit the Ta Dzong, once a fortified lookout tower that is now the National Museum. Then walk down the trail to visit the Rinpung Dzong meaning "fortress of the heap of jewels". Next visit Kichu Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the country. From there you will be taken to the Drugyal Dzong (Bhutan Victory Fort), which was built in 1646 to commemorate Bhutan's victory over Tibetan invaders during the 1600s. On a clear day you can see Mount Jumolhari, Bhutan's second-highest mountain at 7,314meters.Evening is free for leisure. Overnight at Paro.

Day 13: Excursion to Ha Valley & Chela La Pass

Day 14: Paro Sightseeing and phuentsholing drop

After breakfast hike to Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery, which is Bhutan's most famous monastery situated at 3180 meters. Guru Rinpoche (the great spiritual master) is said to have flown on the back of a tigress to meditate in a cave where Taktsang Monastery now stands. The monastery is perched on the edge of a steep cliff, about 900 meters above Paro Valley. Back paro for Lunch . After Lunch drive to Phuentsholing. Over night at Phuentsholing.

Day 15: Phuentsholing – Airport/New Jalpiguri

After breakfast proceed for the NJP Station / Bagdogra (IXB). Board your train/flight for your onward destination with cheerful memories of your holiday. Trip Ends.
