Saramsa Garden, also known as Ipecac Garden, is a public garden located approximately 14 kilometers east of Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim, India. Established in 1922, it originally served as an experimental station for growing different types of fruits for the local colonial officers. Later, it transformed into a nursery for the propagation of medicinal plants. With its manicured gardens, Saramsa Garden provides a retreat for nature lovers and is often utilized for picnics, cultural activities, and orchid shows. The garden sprawls over a huge area, presenting a diverse collection of flora, including orchids, exotic species of plants, and rare flowers indigenous to Sikkim. It has well-paved paths for strolls, and the lush greenery complements the serene mountainous backdrop. Tourists can relax in the gazebos and admire the beautifully landscaped gardens, which make it an ideal spot for photography. The garden also has a mini football stadium for sports enthusiasts.
