Do Drul Chorten Stupa is a prominent Buddhist shrine located in Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim, India. Built by Trulshik Rinpoche, head of the Nyingma order of Tibetan Buddhism, in 1945, this stupa is one of the most important religious sites in Sikkim. It is distinguished by its golden top dome and is surrounded by 108 prayer wheels that are inscribed with mantras and can be rotated by devotees. Inside the stupa, there are complete mandala sets of Dorjee Phurba, holy books, and other religious objects. The stupa is also surrounded by Chorten Lakhang, where there are two huge statues of Guru Rimpoche (Padmasambhava). The serene atmosphere of the stupa, combined with the stunning views of the surrounding mountains, provides a peaceful retreat for meditation and reflection. Atmospheric Chorten
Very atmospheric site with the Chortens in the centre and prayer wheels all the way round the square. Go around the square anti-clockwise of course and turn all the 108 prayer wheels.
