The Shalimar Bagh is located in Srinagar, by the Dal Lake. With its four terraces, the bagh includes a number of fountains, shaded trees and innumerable varieties of flowers that blossom in spring and autumn. The best best views of the garden's beauty are afforded during Autumn and Spring seasons, when leaves change their colour and the flowers blossom respectively. Chashmashahi is the smallest of the Srinagar Mughal gardens, the Chashma Shahi or 'Royal Spring' has always been the favourite of royal families (from Mughals to Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Punjab and even the Dogra rulers). The garden was laid out by the renowned Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, in 1632. 'Chashma' is basically an Urdu word that means “waterfall”. The garden was so named because of a mountain spring/waterfall that feeds it. The famous fresh water spring inside the garden is believed to have medicinal values. Pari Mahal or The Angels' Abode is a seven terraced garden located at the top of Zabarwan mountain range over-looking city of Srinagar and south-west of Dal Lake. The architecture depicts an example of Islamic architecture and patronage of art during the reign of the then Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. It is five-minute drive from Cheshmashahi. Hazratbal Shrine The Hazratbal Shrine, considered to be the holiest Muslim shrine in Kashmir, is located on the left bank of the Dal. The mosque was established by Inayat Begum who was the custodian of the holy relic & ndash; the Moi-e-Muqqadas, which is believed to be a hair of the Prophet ...The Hazratbal Mosque, a beautiful structure, is made of white marble. The construction work on this mosque was started in 1968 by the Muslim Auqaf Trust, which was headed by Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. It took around eleven years for the construction of this mosque, which was completed in 1979. One of the most famous attractions of this mosque is that it is the only domed mosque, which is located in Srinagar. Tulip Grden Kashmir is home to a magnificent garden that’s alive with colors as far as the eye can see. Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden Srinagar is Asia’s largest such garden. It’s awash with dozens of varieties of tulips and other flowers like daffodils. With its terrific location – at the foothills of the Zabarwan Range – Tulip Garden in Srinagar is a veritable Eden.
