Nagin Lake, often considered as a part of the Dal Lake, is a distinct water body located in the city of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is known for its pristine beauty, surrounded by Shankaracharya Hill to the south and Hari Parbat to the west. The name 'Nagin' is derived from the trees surrounding the lake, supposedly shaped like snakes. This picturesque lake is encircled by lush greenery, willow and poplar trees, and showcases a serene and tranquil environment. Nagin Lake is less crowded and more peaceful than its popular counterpart - the Dal Lake, hence it offers a more intimate experience with nature. The lake is quite famous for water sports like boating, water skiing, and swimming. Houseboats and shikaras provide a unique staying and boating experience, giving visitors a feel of the local culture and hospitality. The clear water, coupled with the panoramic view of the mountains and the lotus flowers blooming in July and August, captivates visitors.

Clean Lake
Nigeen Lake is better and more peaceful lake than that of the Dal Lake. Its clean and provides peace of mind while staying in a houseboat.

A lovely lake
Smaller than the main Dal lake but better for it. A lot less houseboats filling the banks and wide enough for privacy on a houseboat if you stay here. Plus the possibility of sunset views if you choos..

Best houseboats on Dal Lake, away from the maddening crowd
Lovely, calm & clean premium houseboats on the other side of Dal Lake...however recently it is becoming a nuisance with over-crowding of holiday makers & too many motorboats on the lake

Quiet lake smaller than Dal lake
This is a second biggest lake in Srinagar and is less crowded than Dal lake. We stayed in a houseboat in this lake and it was a nice stay.
