Chashme Shahi Tourism

Chashme Shahi is one of the beautiful Mughal gardens situated in the heart of Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, India. Constructed in 1632 AD, this terraced garden was commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan and designed by his governor Ali Mardan Khan. The garden is built around a fresh spring, which is where the name 'Chashme Shahi' (Royal Spring) originates. The garden is famous for its natural spring as well as the terraced landscape, beautified with well-manicured gardens, and is a delightful example of Mughal horticultural aesthetic with a Persian influence. The architecture includes a three-tiered structure with fountains and water channels that embody the typical Mughal garden layout. Visitors can enjoy the panoramic views of the Dal Lake and the surrounding mountains.
