Chashme Shahi is one of the beautiful Mughal gardens situated in the heart of Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, India. Constructed in 1632 AD, this terraced garden was commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan and designed by his governor Ali Mardan Khan. The garden is built around a fresh spring, which is where the name 'Chashme Shahi' (Royal Spring) originates. The garden is famous for its natural spring as well as the terraced landscape, beautified with well-manicured gardens, and is a delightful example of Mughal horticultural aesthetic with a Persian influence. The architecture includes a three-tiered structure with fountains and water channels that embody the typical Mughal garden layout. Visitors can enjoy the panoramic views of the Dal Lake and the surrounding mountains. The fresh water spring is renowned for its medicinal properties, and the garden itself provides a serene environment to relax and enjoy the natural beauty.
