6 Nights 7 Days Thimphu Tour Package Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Phuentsholling
(Distance: 170 kms. / Driving Time: 5 hrs. / Altitude of Phuentsholing: 293 mts.) Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport and transfer to Phuentsholing - The Gateway of Bhutan by Road from India. It is a thriving commercial center on the northern edge of the Indian Plains. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at Phuentsholing.
Day 2: Transfer to Thimpu after Permit formalities
(Distance: 176 kms. / Driving Time: 6 hrs. / Altitude of Thimphu: 2350 mts.) After breakfast complete the immigration formalities and transfer to Thimphu (7,710 ft.) the capital city of Bhutan. On arrival check in at the hotel. In the evening, visit the Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion). Overnight stay at Thimphu.
Day 3: Thimpu sightseeing (Full day)
After breakfast visit Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Statue) a place for refreshing with a huge statue of Buddha on the top of the Kuensel Phodrang, National Memorial Chorten (Monument) & Folk Heritage Museum. Afternoon visitSangaygang View Point, Changangkha Monastery, Taking Preserve Centre, The talking national animal of Bhutan can be seen here Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion). Overnight stay at Thimphu.
Day 4: Thimphu to Dochula pass and transfer to Paro
Nearly 100 kilometers, nearly 3 ½ - 4 hours drive - After early breakfast, drive up to Dochu-la pass (3,088m/ 10,130 ft) to take in the view and admire the chorten, mani wall, and prayer flags which decorate the highest point on the road - If skies are clear, the following peaks can be seen from this pass Masagang (7158 meters), Tsendagang (6960 meters), Terigang (7060 meters), Jejegangphugang (7158 meters), Kangphugang (7170 meters ), Zongphugang (7060 meters), etc - finally Gangkar puensum, the highest peak in Bhutan at 7497 meters - Next drive to Paro visiting Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of the country built in 1627 on the way - Evening stroll around the area – Night stay at Paro.
Day 5: PARO SIGHT SEEING
After breakfast visit Drukgyel Dzong. Also visit famous Taktsang Monastery - called “Tiger's Nest†(2hrs hike from the base camp) & Kitchu Monastery. Overnight stay will be at Paro. .
Day 6: Departure – Transfer from Paro to Phuentsholling
Distance: 200 kms. / Driving Time: 7 hrs. / Altitude of Phuentsholing: 293 mts.) After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to Phuentsholing. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at Phuentsholing
