National Memorial Chorten is one of the most prominent religious structures located in the heart of Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. The Memorial Chorten is not just a monument of remembrance; it also serves as a place of daily worship for the local population, who can be seen circumambulating the Chorten throughout the day, spinning the prayer wheels and reciting mantras. It is a hub of devotion, particularly during religious festivals. The architecture of the Chorten is a stunning example of traditional Bhutanese style, complete with intricate paintings and carvings that depict various Buddhist teachings.

A stupa that brings people together!

Impressive National Monument
