Bhutan Postal Museum, located in the heart of Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, is a celebration of the country's rich philatelic history. Inaugurated in 2015 to mark the 60th birthday of the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, His Majesty King Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the museum showcases the evolution of communication and postal services in Bhutan from the earliest days up to the modern period. The museum occupies a contemporary space inside the General Post Office building and features five galleries. These galleries are dedicated to different themes, including Bhutan's postal history, stamps, the art of stamp making, and the future of the postal system. The museum is a treasure trove for stamp enthusiasts and offers an educational experience about Bhutan’s unique approach to stamps, which are often used as a tool for advocating the country’s rich culture and heritage. Notable are the 3D and talking stamps, which are a testimony to Bhutan's innovation in philatelic circles. Visitors can also create personalized stamps with their photos, making it a popular tourist attraction.
