Dochula Pass is a stunning mountain pass located in the snow-capped Himalayas of Bhutan. Situated at an altitude of 3,100 meters above sea level, it is en route from the capital city, Thimphu, to Punakha. The pass offers panoramic views of the majestic Himalayan range and is known for its 108 memorial chortens or stupas, known as 'Druk Wangyal Chortens,' built in honor of Bhutanese soldiers. The site also features the Druk Wangyal Lhakhang temple, which celebrates the stability and progress brought by the fourth king of Bhutan. The pass becomes exceptionally beautiful during clear winter days when the skies are bright blue, and the mountain peaks are covered in snow. Visitors come to Dochula Pass to pay respects, enjoy the natural scenery, and indulge in photography. It is a place of profound tranquility and spiritual significance, reflecting the culture and historical essence of Bhutan.
