Alagar Koyil, also known as Alagar Kovil, is a stunning temple complex dedicated to Lord Vishnu, situated in the foothills of the Alagar hills near Madurai in Tamil Nadu, India. This ancient temple, rich in history and mythology, is noted for its intricate Dravidian architecture and exquisite carvings. The presiding deity here is Lord Kallazhagar, who is worshipped in the form of Meenakshi's brother. The temple complex is adorned with a five-tier gopuram (gateway tower), beautifully sculpted pillars, mandapas (pavilions), and holy tanks.
