Bai Tu Long Bay is often considered as the extension to the well-known Ha Long Bay in Vietnam. Located in the Gulf of Tonkin, within the Quang Ninh Province, it shares similar geological, geographical, geomorphological characteristics with Ha Long Bay, and equally presents a staggering seascape of limestone karsts and isles. However, Bai Tu Long Bay is much less crowded, offering a more serene experience compared to its famous neighbor. It covers an area of about 100 square kilometers, comprising hundreds of islands, many of them uninhabited and unaffected by human presence. Visitors can explore the pristine natural beauty in Bai Tu Long National Park, discover ancient villages like Vung Vieng, and marvel at the limestone caves filled with impressive stalactites and stalagmites. The bay is also a vital area for biodiversity with rich ecosystems including mangrove forests, coral reefs, and tropical forests hosting numerous species of flora and fauna. It is an ideal place for various activities such as kayaking, caving, and especially cruising amidst the dramatic landscapes. Bai Tu Long Bay is part of the greater Ha Long Bay region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
