Taxis and Rental Cars: Renting a car or hiring a taxi from Colombo is a more flexible and private way to travel. The journey normally takes around 1.5 to 2 hours via the Southern Expressway.
Buses: There are public buses that run from Colombo to Bentota regularly. Look for buses heading to Aluthgama or Galle and get down at Bentota.
The coastal train journey from Colombo to Bentota is scenic and highly recommended. Bentota is served by its own railway station, and the ride takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Train services are relatively frequent, and first to third class carriages are usually available.
