Best Time To Visit Bunaken Marine Park (Manado) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Bunake Marine Park, Manado, Indonesia

The ideal time to visit Bunaken Marine Park in Manado, Indonesia, is during the dry season, which runs from May to August. During these months, visitors can expect less rainfall, making underwater visibility high—a crucial factor for divers and snorkelers looking to explore the park's coral reefs and marine biodiversity. The seas tend to be calmer during this period, which means safer and more comfortable boat trips to the various dive sites within the park. Moreover, the dry season corresponds with cooler temperatures than the wet season, providing a pleasant climate for other outdoor activities around Manado.

Alternatively, the shoulder months of April and September can also offer good conditions for visiting Bunaken Marine Park. While there is a higher chance of rain compared to the peak dry season, the park is usually less crowded during these months, allowing for a more serene experience. Visitors should be aware that the wet season spans from November to April and can bring heavy rains and decreased visibility underwater. However, the marine life in Bunaken is abundant year-round, and for those willing to face the occasional downpour, it is still possible to have a rewarding visit outside of the dry season.
