Best Time To Visit Cameron Butterfly Garden (Cameron Highlands) In 2026 - 2027

Visiting the Cameron Butterfly Garden, Cameron Highlands

The Cameron Butterfly Garden is a popular attraction nestled in the serene hills of Malaysia's Cameron Highlands. The best time to visit the Butterfly Garden is between the months of March and September. During this period, the weather in the highlands is relatively dry, with minimal rainfall, making it an ideal time for butterfly watching. Visitors can enjoy the vibrant colors and variety of species with clearer skies and more manageable paths. It is important to note that the Cameron Highlands can be quite cool compared to other parts of Malaysia, with temperatures ranging around 18°C to 25°C during these months, so a light sweater might be necessary for some visitors.

For those looking to avoid the crowds, visiting on weekdays is recommended, as weekends and public holidays can see a large influx of tourists. The Garden opens daily usually from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, giving visitors plenty of time to explore the lush landscapes and interact with the butterflies. The earlier hours of the day, just after opening, can be particularly magical as the butterflies are more active and the morning light offers a beautiful natural ambiance. Be sure to check for any seasonal changes in opening hours or special events that may enhance your visit to the Cameron Butterfly Garden.
