Thrilling and adventurous
Roads are okayish, good at some stretches, bad at some. The pass is located at a high altitude, one must be mindful about this fact. The road offers scenic views, especially while descending towards Pangong lake from the pass. One should be prepared with several layers of warm clothes and drinking water. Some take blood thinner tablets though not necessary. Would recommend an oxygen cylinder, although won’t be needed in most likelihood but it doesn’t cost much to rent for a week from Leh. It sounds intimidating but go for it, it will be a memorable journey.

A landscape that is both beautiful and rough
It was April 8, 2023, when we visited Pangong Tso. As the lake is frozen, I will not be able to enjoy its charm. The Chang La Pass en route to here was an incredible journey. The landscape is rough and charming at the same time. Take some medicine for headaches, because high altitude causes headaches. When you come down the pass, that will subside. Passing through the pass is one of the most beautiful moments in life, so enjoy it Take a moment to let your uneasiness go and enjoy the ride

Second highest mountain pass.
This is the second highest Mountain Road pass in the world at a height of 17688 ft. There is an army outpost, cafeteria and awesome view of the surrounding mountain ranges. Some of the mountain peaks had snow. A must place to visit to appreciate the hardships our army faces in these high altitude place.

Mighty Changla Pass
I visited this on my solo bike ride to Pangong lake. It's on Leh - Pangong road and world's second highest pass. Snow can be seen here throughout the year. Don't stay here for more than half an hour as it may cause High Altitude Sickness. A cafeteria is there that charges everything double. A temple "Changla Baba Sthal" is there, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It feels great being here on this mighty pass.

Stunning
Chang La made me believe the Indian Army is made of super-humans, not ordinary mortals! We were here after a long drive from Hunder but it was made worthwhile by the mesmerizing view all around.
