The Chinatown Heritage Centre is a cultural museum located in the heart of Chinatown in Singapore. It is situated on Pagoda Street within restored shophouses that once served as the lodgings for the early Chinese immigrants. This historical enclave provides an intimate glimpse into the life and times of Chinatown's early settlers. The center features re-created scenes and exhibits of the original interiors of Chinatown shophouses, complete with artifacts and furniture from the late 19th century and early 20th century. Visitors to the Heritage Centre can experience the hardships faced by the Chinese immigrants and learn about their perseverance and determination that contributed to Singapore's success. The museum is an important repository of the social history and culture of the Chinese community in Singapore. It takes visitors on a journey back to a time when Chinatown was a bustling, densely populated enclave brimming with street hawkers, coolies, and merchants.
Really interesting heritage museum. Very small, quick and easy to get around but worth it to understand the heritage of Singapore.

History at its finest
We love learning about the history of the countries and cities we are in and once again we were not disappointed. Priscilla's historical knowledge was amazing.

Heritage Architecture
Amazing architecture that's well maintained. Its a vast area due to its narrow streets, goods and services here are in the expensive side due to its tourist image but worth the visit

Great stopover
This place has great information about the area. Although I've not really ventured a lot as a tourist I found this place very informative and I got to learn something new.

Great History Lesson
Well worth the stop. Great history lesson of the life of Chinese laborers who help establish Singapore. The living conditions were even worse than I had imagined. Plan on spending at least an hour.
