Ephesus is one of the most significant historical sites in Turkey and a major tourist attraction. Curetes Street is a major thoroughfare running through this ancient city. Here's how you can reach it:
To get to Ephesus by air, you will need to fly into the Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB). From the airport, Ephesus is approximately 60 km away.
Travel by train is possible from Izmir or other Turkish cities to Selçuk, which is the nearest train station to Ephesus. Selçuk is about 3 km away from Ephesus.
If you're driving from Izmir, take the O-31 highway, and it will take around an hour to reach Selçuk. From there, signs will direct you to the site of Ephesus.
Multiple bus services operate to Selçuk from major cities. Once in Selçuk, you can take a short taxi ride or a minibus (dolmuş) to Ephesus.
Many visitors opt for a guided tour which includes transport from their hotels in nearby areas such as Kusadasi, Izmir, or directly from the cruise port.
Upon arriving at Ephesus, Curetes Street is easily accessible from both the Upper and Lower Gates of the ancient city. The street is well-signposted and features a number of significant ruins along its path, including the Hadrian Temple and the Terrace Houses.
