Da Nang Cathedral, also known as Rooster Church, is a prominent Catholic church located in Da Nang, Vietnam. Consecrated in 1923, this pink-painted edifice is a fine example of French colonial architecture, which is not only a place of worship but also a popular attraction for tourists and photographers. The church was built by the French priest Louis Vallet during the colonial period of French Indochina. Its most distinctive feature is the metal rooster weathercock perched atop its bell tower, which stands at nearly 70 meters high. This is what lends the cathedral its nickname, 'Rooster Church.' Inside, visitors can find beautiful stained glass windows, a high altar commemorating the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and various religious sculptures. Mass is celebrated regularly and the church remains an important spiritual center for the local Catholic community. Its location in the heart of Da Nang makes it easily accessible and a significant landmark in the city's skyline. Apart from its religious significance, Da Nang Cathedral is renowned for its serene atmosphere and the panoramic views of the city from the church's grounds.
