It is home to numerous species such as deer, wild buffaloes, elephants, and the endangered hog deer. Moreover, it is an ornithologist's paradise, hosting around 300 species of birds including migratory birds like cranes, wild ducks, and storks who visit the sanctuary during the winter months. The sanctuary can be reached through a boat ride from Pasighat and offers a tranquil retreat into nature. The region's rich flora and fauna along with its distinct geography make it a compelling site for eco-tourists and wildlife enthusiasts.

Wonderful sanctuary
The sanctuary and the natural dam on the river were a feast to the eyes. I gazed with wonder at the blueness of the river water and the lush green forests on the banks.
