Daying Ering Wildlife Sanctuary Tourism

Daying Ering Wildlife Sanctuary is a unique ecosystem located in the East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, India, near Pasighat. Encompassing an area of approximately 190 square kilometers, the sanctuary is a maze of river islands with the Siang River flowing through it, a tributary of the mighty Brahmaputra. This pristine sanctuary is named after Dr. Daying Ering, a prominent local legislator and social activist. The landscape ranges from semi-evergreen forests, dense bamboo groves to grasslands providing a sanctuary to a diverse array of fauna. It is home to numerous species such as deer, wild buffaloes, elephants, and the endangered hog deer. Moreover, it is an ornithologist's paradise, hosting around 300 species of birds including migratory birds like cranes, wild ducks, and storks who visit the sanctuary during the winter months. The sanctuary can be reached through a boat ride from Pasighat and offers a tranquil retreat into nature. The region's rich flora and fauna along with its distinct geography make it a compelling site for eco-tourists and wildlife enthusiasts.
