Deer Park Institute Tourism

The Deer Park Institute is a center for the study of classical Indian wisdom traditions located in the village of Bir, in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, India. Set against the backdrop of the Dhauladhar range of the Indian Himalayas, this not-for-profit educational center was founded in 2006. It is named after the Deer Park at Sarnath, where Gautama Buddha first taught the Dharma. Predominantly, it focuses on Indian philosophy, culture, art, and yoga, often hosting workshops, retreats, and courses. The lush green surroundings and serene ambiance provide an ideal environment for learning and introspection. Traditional Tibetan architecture with colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind gives the institute an authentic feel.
