Best Time To Visit Dobanki Watch Tower (Sundarbans) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Dobanki Watch Tower, Sundarbans, West Bengal

The Sundarbans, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its rich mangrove forests and diverse wildlife including the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger, can be experienced extraordinarily from the Dobanki Watch Tower. The ideal time to visit Dobanki Watch Tower in the Sundarbans is during the winter months from November to February. During this period, the weather is pleasantly cool, which not only makes the travel comfortable but also increases the chances of spotting wildlife as animals venture out to bask in the sun. Moreover, the lower humidity levels ensure the mangroves are accessible, and the clear skies provide a perfect backdrop for photographs.

Additionally, bird enthusiasts would find this period particularly rewarding as the Sundarbans is a haven for migratory birds that flock here escaping the northern winter. Visiting during this season also means you'll avoid the heavy monsoon rains that inundate the region from June to September, which can restrict movement and visibility. Regardless of the time you visit, it's advisable to take guided tours to enhance your experience and for safety purposes. Keep in mind that the park is usually closed for visitors from 01 July to 31 July each year due to the breeding season for animals. Planning your trip outside of these dates and avoiding the hot and humid summer period will ensure a more enjoyable excursion to the Dobanki Watch Tower.
